Make Ethical Decisions (MED) Coaching Clinic

Changes are coming to the Make Ethical Decisions (MED) module. To summarize

• Effective April 1^st, the MED course will no longer be offered as an in-person or virtual course for all sports;
• Effective April 1^st, the MED course will be offered exclusively through the Locker as a self-directed eLearning module encompassing both training and evaluation.

For baseball specifically, this content was part of the baseball-specific Teaching and Learning course. The Teaching and Learning course that will be offered in 2026 will reflect these changes, and all MED content will be removed from the Teaching/Learning course effective this year.

• NOTE - for any coach that has completed the Teaching and Learning module prior to December 31^st, 2025, you DO NOT need to complete the new MED module, or take the multisport MED module through SportNL
• NOTE - for any coach that has completed the MED multisport module as a requirement for another sport, you DO NOT need to complete the new MED module.

Unlike all other multisport courses offered in NL, there may be a fee associated with the MED course effective April 1^st as this change is a directive from CAC and affects all sports and all provincial coaching jurisdictions.

Prior to the change in format, SportNL is offering additional MED in-person/virtual clinics in the coming weeks for anyone who may need to take the course. These sessions are intended for coaches who are mid-stream or have not yet completed MED, providing a final chance to complete the training and evaluation under the current delivery format. With future costs for the new online MED module still to be confirmed, this is an important opportunity for coaches to complete MED while it remains available through Coaching NL.

 January: 8, 20
 February: 5, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26

Additional details, including registration information, are all available at sportnl.ca. Coaches are encouraged to review their NCCP transcript and register early to secure a spot.

Completing prior to March 31^st will ensure coaches can complete the course free of charge.
